ZAF MASTER gently elevates and supports the pelvis, helping the spine settle into its natural S-curve and creating a stable, comfortable foundation for meditation. Its distinctive pleated sides respond naturally to your weight, while the firm, resilient filling provides lasting support for longer periods of sitting.
That comfort is backed by generations of experience making the real thing. ZAF is created by Sakae Kinran, a Japanese maker that produces traditional zafu used in Buddhist temples throughout Japan. ZAF brings the essential balance, firmness, and function of the traditional zazen cushion into modern life.
Each ZAF MASTER is made in Takaoka, Toyama, Japan and individually filled by hand with natural kapok fiber, traditionally known as panya in Japan. Generously packed inside, the lightweight fiber gives the cushion its distinctive firmness and resilience.
A non-slip, suede-like exterior helps keep the cushion securely in place, so you can focus on sitting rather than adjusting your position.
The MASTER series follows a traditional single-piece construction and does not feature a removable cover.
