Care & Maintenance
NUNOUS is an innovative upcycled material developed in Kurashiki, Okayama—widely known as the heart of Japan’s denim industry. It is created using a unique technique that repurposes the large amount of fabric offcuts generated during textile production. By focusing on the colors and textures inherent in denim and other fabrics, each piece of NUNOUS is transformed into a one-of-a-kind work of art, with its own distinct expression.
Tray Made from NUNOUS SKIN – A Collaborative Piece
This tray is a collaborative creation born from a partnership between a continuous employment support center for people with disabilities and NUNOUS. Crafted from NUNOUS SKIN—a sheet-like material sliced from solid NUNOUS blocks—it offers durability reminiscent of “textile leather.” The abstract, stone-like patterns are entirely unique; no two pieces are ever the same. Each tray is carefully hand-stitched, adding a sense of warmth and human touch. The softly rounded form and signature NUNOUS colors bring gentle beauty to everyday life.
Please note: Because each item is handmade, slight variations in size may occur. The photos are examples only; color and pattern will vary depending on the cutting location and lot.
NUNOUS is protected under U.S. Patent No. 6,845,551.
